Adrian S. Adkins died September 14, 2005, after a short illness. Mr. Adkins had been an employee of Schoofs Incorporated since 1988. Prior to joining Schoofs, he held various technical/management positions at The Clorox Company, The O'Brien Corp., and Glidden Coatings and Resins.
Mr. Adkins was born in England and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from London University. His technical affiliations included the FSCT, the NPCA, and The Golden Gate and Los Angeles Societies for Coatings Technology.
George C. Rumberg Jr., 66, of Poland, Ohio, died Sept. 26, 2005, of complications from lung and brain cancer.
Mr. Rumberg attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio, before graduating from Youngstown College with a degree in chemistry in 1961. He joined the family business, The Mahoning Paint Corp., Youngstown, Ohio, in 1957 to work alongside his father where he was instrumental in designing specialty coatings for industry and plastics, and ultraviolet coatings. He became president and CEO in 1971, retiring in 1998.
