Jacksonville, FL - Arizona Chemical will pursue a significant investment in its Inks & Coatings business, a move that includes ceasing operations at its Valdosta, GA, chemical plant sometime in late 2008 or early 2009. The company intends to transfer its Valdosta production to new, expanded capabilities at its plant in Savannah, GA.

Over the next 18 months the company will build additional manufacturing capacity onto its existing operations at its Savannah plant to support the move of Valdosta’s product lines.

The move is expected to significantly increase Arizona Chemical’s presence in the supply of rosin-based resins and solutions to the publication ink industry. The company does not expect any supply disruptions during the transition. Production and supply of Uni-Rez® polyamides, Uni-Rez digital ink resins and Sylfat® ink solvents will not be affected by the move.
