DURHAM, England - Thomas Swan has implemented a surcharge, with immediate effect or as contracts permit, of GBP 0.10-0.15 per kilo on its range of Casamid polyamide resins, dependent on grade. The resins are typically used as additives in the coatings and ink industries.

The surcharge comes as a direct result of the major market supply shortage of one of the key raw materials, ethylene diamine (EDA). Additionally, continuing increases in the prices for TOFA and derived products are prompting further price increases across the product range.
