New York and Chicago were the host cities for the first PPG ColorShare Forums, which are designed to bring together color visionaries from the automotive, consumer electronics, architectural design, fashion and other industries to discuss the role, meaning and technology of color in contemporary design and culture.
Speakers at the New York forum, held May 19, included Viggo Wake, senior design for Nokia-Calabasis; Josette Buisson, artistic director for Pittsburgh® Paints; Charles Linn, deputy editor of Architectural Record; and Petra L'Abbe and Jane Harrington, PPG global color stylists. In Chicago (May 24), Buisson, L'Abbe and Harrington were joined by Mark Sexton, FAIA, founding partner of Krueck & Sexton Architects, and Steve Sternberger, Marketing Manager for the PPG Construction Market Team.
Future ColorShare Forums have been tentatively scheduled for June, September and October 2006, as well as January 2007. For more information, visitwww.ppgideascapes.com.
