Series DX-8000 falling dart impact testers from Paul N. Gardner Co. are stand-alone, non-instrumented testers designed for measuring the impact resistance of film, sheet and laminated materials. The instruments can closely control nominal and peak strength characteristics to speed production and additives settings and adjustments, research and development of new film and sheet products, inspection of incoming film and sheet products, and in-process checks to ensure on-spec product for converting operations. Two versions of operation are available. The instrument can operate as a manual system or with pneumatic-assist for dart release and film/sheet sample clamping (useful for applications with higher volume sampling requirements). The instruments are portable and expandable with models for Method A testing, or Method A & B combination testing. Extensions and custom dart stems and weights are available for testing to specific in-house requirements.
