ITW Gema’s Magic Compact™ booth is specifically designed for automatic powder coating operations with XTreme Color Change Environments™. The booth’s Luminaire™ upper structure, built of a smooth, nonconductive material, is designed to provide improved transfer efficiency and less powder on the walls. According to the company, downdraft technology and a Twin-Air Deck™ design virtually eliminates build-up of oversprayed powder. This configuration reportedly minimizes powder accumulation in the booth cabin, reduces cleaning time, and enables faster changeovers from one color to the next.

Another feature of the booth that is designed to facilitate quick color changes is the seamless design of the interior cabin walls and ductwork. The company reports that this design substantially minimizes the risk of color contamination and makes cleaning and maintenance of the ductwork virtually non-existent. To further reduce cleaning hassles, the advanced mono-cyclone of the booth has a built-in sieve that screens out contaminates. The unit also uses dense-phase transport technology for improved material handling.

Ancillary equipment such as the Chameleon Color Management System™ can further improve the functionality of the booth. The Chameleon uses PLC intelligence to automate cleaning and prevent color contamination by pulsing compressed air over the gun exterior and throughout the powder path.
