Following a successful pilot and expert review session held in May, The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) will hold its inaugural Protective Coatings Inspector (PCI) course and certification exam August 20-25, 2007 in Pittsburgh, PA. The new course, which focuses on the inspection of coatings applied to steel surfaces, is designed to streamline the certification process by focusing on the procedures and knowledge that are crucial to successful coatings inspection.

Students who complete the five-day course and pass the course exam with a score of 70% or better become eligible to receive a PCI Basic Inspector level card. A certification-level written and practical exam is offered on the sixth day for those who meet the prerequisites for certification-level testing.
