FAIRLAWN, OH – The American Chemistry Council (ACC) has recognized OMNOVA Solutions’ Global Technology Center in Akron, OH, and specialty chemicals facilities in Green Bay, WI, Fitchburg, MA, and Calhoun, GA, with Certificates of Excellence for their safety achievements in 2011. These awards were presented in recognition of each location’s outstanding safety results as part of their respective Responsible Care® programs throughout the past year. This is the highest certificate awarded to individual facilities by the ACC and is bestowed upon those that complete a year with no Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable injuries or illnesses, which result in days away from work, restricted workdays or job transfers.

OMNOVA’s Green Bay plant has worked over six years without an OSHA-recordable injury and over 10 years without a lost or restricted workday injury. It has been 21 months since the Fitchburg plant had a lost time injury and 17 months for the Calhoun facility. OMNOVA’s Global Technology Center has logged over a year and a half since its last recordable injury and over 32 months since the last lost time injury.
