Dr. John Hook, retired Senior Research Fellow at Dow Coatings Materials (formerly Rohm & Haas), will deliver the Mattiello Memorial Lecture at the American Coatings Conference (ACC), April 7-9, 2014, in Atlanta.

The American Coatings Association (ACA), in partnership with Vincentz Network, is calling for papers to be presented at the American Coatings CONFERENCE 2014.

Vincentz Network has announced that the dates for the 2015 European Coatings Show will be April 21-23, 2015 in Nuremberg, Germany.

The conference portion of this week’s event wrapped up Wednesday afternoon, with sessions on Epoxy Coatings, Waterborne Systems, Smart and Functional Coatings, and Novel Materials.

Another widely covered topic at the ACC is protective coatings.

Bio-based coatings are covered in a number of papers at the Conference. One such paper was by Senthilkumar Rengasamy from Eastern Michigan University, titled Surface Modification of Green Coatings with Smart Non-Polar Binders.

The winners of the 2012 American Coatings Award are Antony Van Dyk and Alan Nakatani from Dow Coating Materials.

Dr. Rathindra DasGupta of the National Science Foundation (NSF) delivered the second keynote address yesterday at the conference, titled Accelerating Discovery to Innovation.

Steve Sides of the American Coatings Association, and Sonja Schulte of Vincentz Network welcomed attendees to the 2012 American Coatings Conference on Monday afternoon after the Pre-Conference Tutorials.
