On May 15, nearly 90 members and staff of the Alliance for Chemical Distribution descended upon Capitol Hill for the annual Washington Fly-In.

This year's winners have demonstrated various benefits, including energy savings, carbon emission reductions, minimized water usage, and a significant decrease in VOC and hazardous air pollutant emissions.

The Alliance for Chemical Distribution released the results of its most recent survey on members’ rail use and issues during the final half of 2023.

The company reported that both consolidated net sales and standalone net sales were up for its fiscal year, which ended March 31, 2024.

Results included record first quarter Housing and Infrastructure Products (HIP) income from operations, and Performance & Essential Materials (PEM) sales volume growth. 

First quarter 2024 net sales increased year-over-year. The growth within the company’s end-markets was driven by improvement in both refinish and light vehicles, offset partially by lower net sales in industrial and commercial vehicles.

The American Coatings Association announced new leadership appointments to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Jeffrey J. Powell, President and CEO of Diamond Vogel, Inc., will serve as ACA Chairman; and Chase Bean, President, CEO and Chairman of Tnemec Company, Inc., will serve as ACA Vice Chairman & Treasurer.

The agreement is for the sale of 49% of Germany’s Nordlicht offshore wind farms.
