A Fresh Look for a New Year

January 6, 2026

In this article:

  • PCI introduced a refreshed eMagazine design in 2026 to improve readability, navigation and content discovery for coatings professionals.
  • The updated layout makes it easier to find technical articles, recurring columns and feature content within each issue.
  • A redesigned cover highlights the lead feature while clearly signaling additional stories available inside the issue.
  • PCI’s 2026 editorial focus includes sustainability, equipment, digitalization, additives, resins and pigments across manufacturing applications.
  • Readers can engage with PCI content through articles, podcasts, webinars and digital platforms throughout the year.

A new year is a natural moment to take stock and look ahead. With this January issue, PCI does both with a refreshed eMagazine design that brings a cleaner, more modern look to the publication while preserving the structure and editorial depth our readers expect.

You will notice updates throughout the issue, from page layouts and section headers to visual hierarchy and navigation. The goal was clarity. Content is easier to scan, sections are more clearly defined and recurring departments feel more cohesive. The table of contents remains a central roadmap and one of the most-used pages in the eMagazine, helping readers quickly find features, columns and departments while improved visual cues throughout the issue make it easier to orient yourself as you move through the content.

The cover has also been refreshed with a stronger visual emphasis and clearer entry points to what is inside the issue. Updated imagery and interaction help signal what is clickable and encourage exploration, while keeping the focus on the primary topics you expect to find in our magazine.

“The redesign was about tightening and refining, not overhauling. We focused on simplifying the color system, cleaning up page elements and creating a more cohesive flow so the content feels modern, forward-looking and easier to navigate without losing PCI’s established identity.”
— Jaime Moy, Art Director

What has not changed is PCI’s editorial focus. You will still find in-depth technical coverage, practical insights and industry-driven analysis spanning formulation, raw materials, equipment, sustainability and manufacturing trends. Columns you rely on remain part of the mix, features continue to go deep and the digital format supports data representation and interactive elements.

Looking ahead to 2026, readers can expect new Focus On coverage around key industry topics, continued emphasis on additives, resins, pigments, equipment and sustainability, and growing integration of podcasts, webinars and digital-first storytelling across our platforms. Coverage will continue to track digitalization and AI, regulatory pressure, materials of concern and the technologies shaping how coatings are formulated, applied and manufactured throughout the year.

As always, PCI is strongest when it reflects what the industry is watching. If there are trends you are tracking, challenges you are navigating or topics you would like to see explored, whether through articles, podcasts or conversations, I encourage you to reach out. Here’s to a new year, a refreshed look and another year of meaningful coverage across the paint and coatings industry.
