A New Way to Read PCI
The updated digital edition brings a cleaner, page-based layout, direct navigation and an easy path to complete technical coverage online.

Earlier this year, we introduced a refreshed eMagazine design. Readers of our latest issues may have noticed an updated digital reading experience. The issue now opens in a page-based format that more closely reflects the structure and pace of a magazine, while adding tools that make it easier to move directly to the information you need.
You will notice the change first in the layout. Pages have a cleaner, more consistent framework, with larger images, clearer hierarchy, pull quotes, graphics and callouts that help break up technical material. The goal is to preserve the depth of PCI’s coverage while making that coverage easier to scan, enter and return to.

Navigation is more direct, too. Tap or click an open area of the edition to bring up the reader toolbar. From there, you can open the contents, browse page thumbnails, jump to a specific page, search within the issue or across available editions and switch to full-screen view. You can also share a link to the full edition or an individual page and download a PDF when that is your preferred way to read.
The controls are designed to work across desktop, tablet and phone. Use the arrows, mouse or keyboard to move between pages; swipe on a mobile device; and double-click, double-tap or pinch to zoom. A built-in tutorial is available from the Help menu when you want a quick walk-through.
One change you may see in some longer articles is a “Read the Full Article Online” link. Certain technical topics need more room than a concise, highly visual digital issue can provide. In those cases, the article will continue on the PCI website, and the link will take you directly to the complete version. This lets us preserve the full technical discussion while keeping the digital issue focused and easy to navigate. Think of the eMagazine as a curated path through the month’s coverage, with the website extending that path when a story needs more room.
PCI will continue to publish technical articles, industry analysis, product and materials coverage, columns and other resources for coatings formulators and manufacturers. The new reader is simply another way to make that content more accessible.
