It is estimated that over 83 million gallons of leftover paint goes to landfill every year. Landfilled paint and its VOCs, fungicides and toxic metals leach out into the ground, contaminating the land, the ground water and the air we breathe. Through initiatives such as the ACA’s PaintCare program, as well as the efforts of paint recycling companies, much of the paint that would otherwise be landfilled or incinerated has been recycled into new, high-quality paint used by professionals, homeowners, organizations and municipalities.
Please join us for our panel discussion coordinated by the Product Stewardship Institute, where Heidi K. McAuliffe, Vice President, Government Affairs for the American Coatings Association; Sanjeev Bagaria, CEO of GDB International, Inc.; Chris McCarthy, Founder of EarthPaint; and Vijay Mannari, Director, Coatings Research Institute at Eastern Michigan University, will discuss current paint recycling efforts, and how consumers, coatings manufacturers, raw material suppliers and retailers can all get involved.
