Replacing PTFE in fine-texture powder coatings requires higher additive dosages, rebalanced formulations and extensive performance validation.

The new wax additive enables formulators to achieve fine texturing effects in powder coatings with a host of additional benefits.

The company said rising concerns about the impact of PFAS on human health and the environment have led to a growing demand for PTFE alternatives.

These post-addable additives can be effectively utilized as post-addible solutions to alter smooth or glossy stocked powder coatings into matted or textured finishes while circumventing the high research and development, and production costs normally associated with small, quick turnaround orders and reducing manufacturing complexities.
