HAMBURG, Germany - Krahn Chemie GmbH has acquired the distribution activities of the Dutch company Lapis Minerals & Chemicals BV (Lapis) as part of an asset deal.
The Lapis business distributes construction chemicals in the Benelux countries. The acquisition is in line with the Krahn Chemie strategy to further strengthen its core segments in Europe. The company has also recruited former Lapis manager Ferry Jacobs as a Technical Director Construction Chemicals for Krahn Chemie, which will facilitate a smooth transfer of the acquired businesses and help to expand this sector throughout Europe.
"The Lapis distribution business allows a significant strengthening of our business in the Benelux countries and simultaneously a targeted expansion of our construction chemicals activities. We are very pleased about the acquisition, which ideally complements the group's portfolio, and are certain that we have found in Ferry Jacobs an expert who will be able to further advance our activities in Europe," said Dr. Rolf Kuropka, Managing Director of Krahn Chemie GmbH.
