IPDI is a cycloaliphatic diisocyanate. Due to its primary and secondary isocyanate groups, it allows controlled poly-addition with polyol co-reactants, which provides opportunities to design molecular structures for specific materials. Major applications of IPDI are waterborne polyurethane dispersions, adhesives and UV resins. The IPDI trimer can be used in non-yellowing, high-performance PU coatings for various applications, such as automotive refinish.
