Blagden Specialty Chemicals to Distribute ECKART Products in UK and Ireland
KENT, England - Effective August 1, 2016, Blagden Specialty Chemicals will be the distributor for ECKART products in the UK and Ireland. Dedicated ECKART Technical Service/Sales employees will continue to be based in the UK.
ECKART is one of the foremost international manufacturers of metallic and effect pigments. These are used within the paints and coatings industry, the printing industry and the plastics and lightweight concrete industries. ECKART is a division of global specialty chemicals leader, ALTANA.
Blagden Specialty Chemicals has a long-established reputation as a leading chemical supplier across UK and Irish industrial markets. The company has been the distributor for ALTANA’s BYK division for many years and focuses on sectors including coatings, plastics, and other industries.
The implementation of this new business model by ECKART comes as a result of a strategic review of its existing and future market position. “We strongly believe that these changes are essential to allow ECKART to reinforce our leading position and continue to provide the best possible service to customers in the UK and Ireland,” said Craig Reid, Managing Director, ECKART UK Ltd. “Our UK-based technical support/sales team will bring best-in-class expertise and support to ECKART’s customer base while maintaining our commitment to the effect pigment industry.”
