THE WOODLANDS, TX - The National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) recently announced that Andes Chemical Corp. has won the 2016 Responsible Distribution Excellence Award. Each year, the award is given to the NACD member or affiliate company who most embodies the ideals of NACD Responsible Distribution®, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary as the association’s third-party-verified environmental, health, safety, and security program.

“Andes Chemical Corporation’s dedication to safety, sustainability and environmental health is truly exceptional and certainly lives up to the standards of Responsible Distribution,” said NACD President Eric R. Byer. “Because of their innovative and effective approach, Andes Chemical has improved their safety performance for three consecutive years while still increasing their workforce and work hours.”

In determining this year’s award winner, several key practices at Andes Chemical stood out, including:

  • holding quarterly meetings to monitor performance in relation to company goals and objectives;
  • conducting performance reviews for all employees twice a year;
  • embracing innovation and technology like the use of handheld devices for daily operations including inspection activities and access to material safety data; and
  • extending its responsibility to the community by participating in organizations like youth baseball and Miami Children’s Young Ambassadors.

Headquartered in Miami, Florida, the company has been a member of NACD since 2007.
