WORMS, Germany — Synthomer has inaugurated a new 36,000-tonne expansion to its acrylic dispersions production facility in Worms, Germany. The investment increases the site’s capacity in excess of 30%, and its fully automated production facility significantly enhances the site’s capability to produce made-to-order specialty acrylics. The expansion will continue to strengthen the company’s growth in industries that include paint and coatings, and adhesives and sealants.

The successful conclusion of the project was celebrated by guided tours for the board members through the new facilities and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque. Following this, Neil Johnson, Chairman of the Board, thanked the project team for the professionally executed expansion.

Calum MacLean, Chief Executive of Synthomer, commented, “Synthomer, as one of the world leaders in water-based polymers, has a long-term commitment to support industry growth. The investment adds a world-class facility for innovative acrylic dispersions in the heart of our extensive European dispersion network, which allows us to better serve our customers.”
