AKRON, OH — Gabriel Performance Products (Gabriel), a U.S.-based specialty chemicals company, announced the acquisition of a select portfolio of alkyd resins from Deltech Resin Co. (Deltech).

Gabriel has purchased a subset of Deltech’s alkyd resin product line. Gabriel will produce these products in its Harrison City, Pennsylvania, facility, home of its Ranbar^® alkyd resin technology. The products are complementary to Gabriel’s current offering of alkyd resins.

The Gabriel sales team will work with customers to ensure a smooth transition.

Deltech remains an active producer of specialty alkyds and other products for the coatings market and expects no changes to its New Cumberland, West Virginia, facility.

The transaction marks Gabriel’s fifth acquisition since 2014 and builds on its focus of growing its proprietary product portfolio serving the CASE end market.

Gabriel is a market-leader in epoxy curing agents, Phenoxy additives, and specialty chemical manufacturing. It produces both an extensive line of specialty proprietary products focused on CASE and custom manufactured chemicals utilizing complex chemistries and processes. The company has focused on expanding its epoxy specialty offerings beyond its mercaptan-based curative technology.
