HAMBURG, Germany — Biesterfeld announced that it is expanding its long-term partnership with Evonik in the paints and varnishes business segments. As of May 1, 2020, Biesterfeld is now distributing the ACEMATT^®, AEROSIL^®, AERODISP^®, AEROXIDE^®, SIPERNAT^®, SPHERILEX^®, ZEOFREE^®, ZEOTHIX^® and ZEOLEX^® products in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia.

These silica products are coating additives crucial in producing paint and varnish formulations. ACEMATT matting agents are precipitated or fumed silicas that are suitable for direct use, easy to process and highly efficient. There is no need for high-shear forces when processing them as part of paint formulations. AEROSIL and AERODISP are fumed silicas used for rheology control in various applications; they modify the anti-settle and anti-sag properties of solvent- and water-based paints and varnishes. SIPERNAT and ZEOLEX are special fillers used as titanium dioxide extenders. SPHERILEX products help to improve the mechanical durability of wall paints, for example.
