The ChemQuest Group announced it has appointed Wayne Daniell, Ph.D., director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Over the last 27 years, Daniell has founded and managed companies that developed nanomaterials and various coatings additives for use in markets such as consumer electronics, renewable energy and white biotechnology. He will draw on this expertise in support of ChemQuest’s four business pillars: business strategy and transformation, technology development, operational and manufacturing efficiencies, and M&A advisory services.

Daniell co-founded NanoScape AG in 2001 and served as the company’s CEO from 2002 until its acquisition by a top 10 Fortune 500 company in 2015. He then managed the post-acquisition integration, as well as a ten-fold production capacity expansion, before taking on operational responsibility for all production, quality control and product development activities. Most recently, Daniell served as business development manager for the chemicals division of SAES Getters SpA, with responsibility for all business development activities for the newly formed unit and with a focus on the commercialization of functional additives.

“Wayne’s wide-ranging expertise in specialty chemicals and advanced materials, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, are an ideal addition to the ChemQuest team, particularly as we continue to expand our reach in the EMEA region. His contributions will help us support the profitable growth of our clients through a broad range of projects,” said Daniel Murad, ChemQuest CEO.

Daniell holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Reading, as well as a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Nottingham. He also participated in an EU-funded Researcher Exchange Program with the Weizmann Institute of Science and served as a post-doctoral researcher at both the University of Nottingham and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He speaks English and German.

“I was very fortunate to have worked with ChemQuest in a previous role, where their team’s breadth of applications coverage and in-depth insight into a range of market segments provided us with guidance on how to strategically reposition the company,” Daniell said. “Having spent my career commercializing technologies in the additives and advanced materials space, moving from the lab through scale-up to full commercialization, I am hoping to bring this experience to my new role. I’m very excited about joining the ChemQuest team and look forward to helping our clients develop appropriate strategies in order to achieve their goals.”
