AZZ Inc. has announced the appointment of Jeff Vellines as the new president and chief operating officer of the Precoat Metals business segment. Vellines will officially assume his new role on March 1, 2025.
In addition to Vellines' appointment, AZZ has also announced that Kurt Russell will be transitioning to the role of senior vice president and chief strategic officer. Russell, who previously served as the president and COO of the Precoat Metals business segment, will now focus on the company's growth initiatives.
Vellines first joined Precoat Metals in 2011 as the director of strategic planning. He has since held a number of leadership roles within the company, including vice president of sales and senior vice president of Commercial Operations. Vellines was most recently appointed as the president of AZZ Precoat Metals in early 2024.
AZZ's CEO, Tom Ferguson, expressed his excitement for the new leadership changes, stating, "We are excited to have Kurt Russell, with his tremendous experience in the metal coatings industry and successful track record leading AZZ Precoat Metals, move into the newly created chief strategic officer role to support our stated objective to grow more aggressively in the coatings space.
