Interpon Coatings Back Long-Lasting LED Fixtures

AkzoNobel extended its supply agreement with Signify, the global lighting company, to provide Interpon F powder coatings for Signify’s Philips LED outdoor luminaires. The coatings are designed for long-term durability and were selected following extensive performance testing.
The Interpon F range was chosen for its UV resistance, color retention and weatherability. The coatings provide 90 percent gloss retention after 1,000 hours of 3GU testing and are backed by a ten-year warranty on gloss performance.
“Our products will need to be replaced less frequently, reducing the resources required for manufacturing,” said Yonglan Yi, product manager at Signify. “Using high quality components is vital to creating durable and aesthetically pleasing lighting solutions.”
AkzoNobel also received Signify’s Best Sustainability Energy Idea award through its 2024 SEED collaboration program, recognizing the company’s innovative coatings, AI-assisted process optimization and digital energy calculator. Both companies serve on the Corporate Advisory Board to the World Green Building Council and have published science-based carbon reduction targets.
