The Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD) announced that U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) has received its second annual ChemPolicy Champion award, recognizing her legislative support of the chemical distribution industry and its supply chain.
“As the founder and co-chair of the Chemistry Caucus, there are few allies who have stood with our industry as consistently and vocally as Senator Capito,” said Eric R. Byer, ACD president and CEO. He cited her role in advancing chemical facility security standards, supporting reforms to the Toxic Substances Control Act, and advocating for clarity on PFAS liability.
Sen. Capito, who chairs the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said she will continue efforts to improve the review of new chemicals, enhance community safety, and advance key reauthorization initiatives.
