Nouryon announced it has received multiple Responsible Care® awards from the American Chemistry Council (ACC), recognizing the company’s achievements in safety and operational excellence. Among the honors, Paul Phillips, regional process safety management manager for the Americas, was named Responsible Care Employee of the Year.
Phillips was recognized for his contributions to process safety improvements and leadership within the ACC Process Safety Committee. The award is given annually to one member company employee who demonstrates exceptional commitment to the Responsible Care® program.
Several Nouryon facilities also received Facility Safety Awards for 2024. Sites in Texas, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois, Washington, and North Carolina received Certificates of Excellence for achieving zero days away from work and zero job transfer or restriction cases among employees and contractors. The Augusta, Georgia, site received a Certificate of Honor for achieving the same among employees.
“These awards are a testament to our collective commitment to fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement,” said Paresh Bhakta, senior vice president and chief integrated supply chain officer at Nouryon.
Responsible Care® is a voluntary chemical industry initiative led by the ACC to promote continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
