PPG announced its inclusion on Newsweek’s World’s Greenest Companies 2025 list, which recognizes the top 750 publicly listed companies worldwide for environmental sustainability performance. The ranking evaluated more than 8,000 companies across 26 countries.
“By embracing sustainable innovation as a key component of our business strategy, we’re driving growth through solutions that yield sustainable advantages for our customers,” said Peter Votruba-Drzal, PPG vice president, global sustainability.
The recognition follows PPG’s recent progress on its 2030 sustainability goals. In 2024, 41% of sales came from sustainably advantaged products. The company also reported an 18% reduction in scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions, a 6% reduction in scope 3 emissions, and a 28% reduction in water intensity at priority sites. Additionally, 48% of process waste was diverted to reuse, recycling, or recovery, and 98% of key suppliers were assessed on sustainability criteria.
Newsweek’s list is compiled by GIST and Plant-A Insights Group based on more than 25 environmental metrics, including emissions, water use, waste, and sustainability commitments.
