IFS Coatings announced that its Puroplaz® PE21 powder coating is being used on the newly designed facemasks of the Detroit Lions’ 2024/25 season helmets. The facemasks, inspired by the rugged design of the Ford Bronco, now feature a high-performance coating engineered to withstand NFL-level impact and abrasion.
The durable thermoplastic delivers chip-resistant protection, UV and scratch resistance, and a high-lubricity finish. The application ensures both toughness and aesthetic consistency with the team’s updated branding, which includes a redefined Honolulu Blue and white-trimmed silver Lion logo and a blue facemask with white striping.
“Like the team, that coating has to be tough, hardworking, and ready to take major impact without breaking down,” said Tim Brinner, Puroplaz manager at IFS Coatings. “We are proud to see our Puroplaz products performing on the field.”
IFS Puroplaz has become a trusted choice in high-impact environments, making it a natural fit for professional sports equipment and other demanding applications.
