Syensqo Earns Certification for Digital Carbon Footprint Tool

Syensqo announced it has received third-party certification for the method used in its digital product carbon footprint (PCF) tool, currently deployed across its Novecare business. The certification validates the company’s ability to calculate the carbon footprint of its products and support customers in decarbonization efforts.
The tool, audited by TÜV Rheinland, was certified in compliance with ISO 14067 and the Together for Sustainability (TfS) guidelines, which are specific to the chemical industry. Syensqo said the certification marks a milestone toward its goal of reaching Scope 1 and 2 carbon neutrality by 2040.
According to the company, customer interest in PCF data has grown significantly. In 2024, Syensqo received more than 10 times the number of PCF data requests compared to 2023.
Syensqo’s digital PCF tool incorporates supplier PCF data that have passed internal review. In 2024, this supported alignment with suppliers for 38% of its raw materials Scope 3 impact. The company also launched Climate Pledges with its top 70 suppliers in 2025, covering 35% of its Scope 3 raw materials impact as of April.
Syensqo plans to expand the digital PCF tool to other business segments and use it to guide new product development.
