The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) announced that its board chair, Juan Caballero, has been appointed coordinator of the Corrosion Commission for the Panamanian Society of Engineers and Architects (SPIA).
In his new role, Caballero will guide the commission’s efforts to promote the profession, strengthen technical expertise, and foster the exchange of best practices in corrosion control. He will also represent the commission in national and international forums to ensure Panama’s presence in global infrastructure discussions.
As AMPP’s board chair, Caballero has advanced standards, training, and professional development programs that support safety and sustainability through corrosion prevention. His leadership in both AMPP and SPIA positions him to connect Panama’s engineering priorities with international best practices.
“Juan’s appointment to lead SPIA’s Corrosion Commission is a well-deserved recognition of his expertise and vision,” said Alan Thomas, CEO of AMPP. “His ability to connect Panama’s infrastructure needs with global solutions will bring lasting value to both SPIA and AMPP’s shared mission of protecting the world’s critical assets.”
