Covation Biomaterials Appoints New CEO

Covation Biomaterials announced the appointment of Steven Ackerman as chief executive officer. Ackerman brings 15 years of experience in sustainable materials and previously served as the company’s vice president of product and technology. He succeeds Dean Trivits, who had served as CEO following the retirement of Michael Saltzberg in 2023.
Ackerman joined DuPont Biomaterials in 2010 and helped guide the transition to Covation Biomaterials in 2022. He has led global growth, technology development, and innovation efforts for Sorona polymer, including advancing new applications in fibers. In his most recent role, Ackerman connected global technology teams with sales, marketing, and customers to align research and development with market needs.
