Diamond Vogel to Exit Retail

Diamond Vogel announced a strategic shift in its approach to the architectural coatings market, divesting its company-owned retail stores to focus on core manufacturing operations. Spectrum Paint agreed to acquire Diamond Vogel’s architectural paint business across 11 locations, including eight stores in central Iowa. Spectrum plans to continue operations and retain most employees.
“Our strength lies in paint manufacturing, and we recognized the need to reinvest in our core capabilities,” said Jeff Powell, CEO of Diamond Vogel.
Diamond Vogel will now focus on serving industrial customers through a new service center model, upgrading 12 existing locations to support local inventory, color matching and order fulfillment.
Founded in 1926, Diamond Vogel remains a manufacturer of architectural, industrial, wood, traffic and specialty coatings.
