Stahl Reopens Ranipet Coatings Facility

Stahl announced the reopening of its coatings facility in Ranipet, India. The site, originally inaugurated in 2000 and closed in 2019, returns with a focus on leather finishing, performance coatings and packaging coatings following the company’s divestment of wet-end activities.
The upgraded facility brings production, R&D, and application lab and testing under one roof to speed development cycles and strengthen customer collaboration. Stahl said the modernized site features automated systems and a wastewater treatment setup that recycles process water for zero liquid waste. About 140 employees are based at the location.
“The reopening of our Ranipet site is an important milestone in Stahl’s transformation journey,” said Maarten Heijbroek, CEO of Stahl. “This investment reflects our strategic focus and aligns our capabilities with future market demands. Being able to produce locally in India — an essential growth market — strengthens our position and enables us to better support our customers with tailored, innovative solutions.”
“Ranipet has always been a special place for Stahl, and its reopening is both a homecoming and a new beginning,” said Ranganath BV, managing director, India and Bangladesh. “This modern, sustainable facility strengthens our ability to serve customers locally while contributing to Stahl’s global innovation journey.”
