Brenntag Signs Distribution Agreement

Brenntag Specialties announced a global distribution agreement with Calyxia that expands access to the company’s microcapsule-based technologies across advanced material applications. Under the partnership, Brenntag will distribute Calyxia’s Catalyx H encapsulated accelerators and Calyshield L encapsulated lubricants to customers in the Americas and China. Brenntag will also distribute the Calyshield product range in selected EMEA markets.
The agreement broadens Brenntag’s offering in material science while building on a recently announced partnership between the companies for the beauty and personal care market.
Calyxia’s Catalyx H microcapsules provide ambient-stable latency with rapid on-demand cure for epoxy formulations. According to Calyxia, the technology eliminates the need for cold-chain logistics, increases throughput, lowers energy use and reduces scrap, while maintaining compatibility with existing manufacturing processes.
Calyshield L is a PFAS- and silicone-free lubricant replacement designed for coatings and elastomers. The technology provides controlled release, enhanced abrasion resistance and long-term performance by protecting the lubricant throughout processing. It is engineered for incorporation into a variety of coating systems and elastomeric formulations.
“Representing and showcasing the benefits of Calyxia products to our global customer base is the core of what Brenntag Specialties has to offer,” said Koen Linsen, global marketing director CASE, Material Science at Brenntag Specialties. “We are delighted to add the unique Calyxia technologies to our portfolio and work together to capture market opportunities in CASE and composite applications around the world.”
“We are excited to join forces with Brenntag to bring our new Catalyx H and Calyshield L microcapsules to global markets,” said Jamie Walters, CEO and co-founder of Calyxia. “Combining Brenntag’s applications and market understanding with Calyxia’s cutting-edge product technology and solutions, I am convinced that we will accelerate our global impact and bring new speed, reliability, sustainability and cost benefits to the fast growing markets these products can serve.”
Calyxia, based in the Paris region, manufactures advanced and sustainable microcapsules and microspheres for applications in agriculture, home and beauty, and advanced materials. Brenntag, headquartered in Essen, Germany, distributes chemicals and ingredients across more than 70 countries and operates two global divisions, Brenntag Essentials and Brenntag Specialties.
