Meraxis Adds Laboratory Services to Polymer Portfolio

- Polymer testing and laboratory services expansion
- Accredited material testing for plastics and coated components
- Support for recyclates composites and product qualification
- Laboratory capabilities tied to industrial and automotive applications
Meraxis announced it is expanding its service portfolio to include comprehensive laboratory services for the polymer industry beginning in January 2026.
The company is taking over accredited testing laboratories from the REHAU Group and will offer independent and internationally comparable testing services. The laboratory network at the Rehau site includes more than 500 established test procedures, including 64 accredited methods, spanning chemical analysis physical-mechanical testing compounding and test specimen production weathering and climate testing microscopy and surface characterization.
“We support plastics processors who are under high time and cost pressure to qualify new materials more quickly,” said Dr Stefan Girschik, chief executive officer at Meraxis. “By combining consulting material procurement and production and accompanying material testing we can make the path from idea to finished product much more efficient.”
The laboratory portfolio covers the full chain from raw material characterization to product qualification. Operating within approximately 1,250 m² of laboratory space, the team develops formulations characterizes materials and tests components including application-specific evaluations for automotive furniture and industrial products. Testing can be conducted on standardized specimens or real components depending on customer requirements.
The laboratories conduct testing in accordance with international standards and customer specifications including requirements from automotive manufacturers industrial partners and raw material suppliers. Testing capabilities include mechanical thermal chemical aging and media resistance assessments and operate in compliance with DIN EN ISO 17025:2018 quality assurance standards.
Another focus of the laboratory services is standard-compliant testing of recyclates composites and plastics to support the replacement of virgin materials without compromising quality or process reliability.
“The laboratory ideally complements Meraxis’ full-service portfolio,” said Dr Dominic Tilgner, director of advanced materials and applications at Meraxis. “Together we offer customers efficient standard-compliant qualification of plastics compounds recyclates and coated components.”
Expanded testing and qualification services continue to support material selection and performance evaluation across Raw Materials and polymer supply chains.
