Stahl Recognized by Global Apparel Brand for Formulation Work

The company announced it received the adiFORMULATOR Award for the second consecutive year for its formulation practices.
Stahl announced it received the 2025 adiFORMULATOR Award from adidas, marking the second consecutive year the company has earned the recognition. The award reflects efforts related to formulation practices across Stahl’s Leather Finishing and Performance Coatings portfolios.
According to the company, the recognition is tied to its ongoing work to achieve and maintain Level 3 conformance with the ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List across key product groups. Stahl cited formulation strategies, the phase-out of restricted substances and internal governance processes as contributing factors.
The company also pointed to broader initiatives, including prioritizing safer raw materials, updating internal design standards, expanding product listings in the ZDHC Gateway and collaborating with brands, manufacturers and supply chain partners to support ZDHC-aligned solutions.
“Receiving the adiFORMULATOR Award from adidas for the second consecutive year is testament to our team’s passion and continued commitment and inspires us to continue driving positive change for our customers and the industry as a whole,” said Laura Willemsen, group director sustainability and marketing at Stahl. “We are proud to be recognised for our efforts in advancing sustainable innovation to meet evolving industry standards.”
Stahl stated that the recognition aligns with its longer-term environmental, social and governance roadmap, including interim targets intended to support continued alignment with evolving industry standards.
