Canadian Coatings Conference Names Industry Veteran as Keynote Speaker

The Canadian Coatings Association announced that Sam Morell will serve as keynote speaker for the upcoming Canadian Coatings Conference technical program.
Morell will present a keynote titled “The Scientific Balance,” examining how revisiting core principles of chemistry, physics and mathematics can provide new insights for paint and coatings formulation. The presentation will explore how combining empirical approaches with fundamental scientific theory can reveal opportunities for improved coating performance and innovation.
Drawing on real-world formulation challenges including surface tension, pigment dispersion, rheology and film formation, the session will examine how scientific fundamentals can support the development of more effective and sustainable coatings.
Morell is a chemical engineering graduate of New York University and has held technical and marketing roles at Rohm and Haas, BASF and Air Products and Chemicals. He is the founder of SamMorell.com, a specialty chemicals consulting firm.
He has contributed to several industry publications including PCI Magazine, Coatings World, The American Ink Maker and Adhesives Age. Morell has also presented at global industry events including the American Coatings Show, European Coatings Show, Chinacoat and the Waterborne Symposium.
The Canadian Coatings Conference will bring together industry professionals from across the CASE value chain to discuss technology, regulatory developments and market trends shaping the future of paint and coatings.
