PPG Commits $10 Million to Skilled Trades Training

PPG Industries and the PPG Foundation announced a $10 million global commitment through 2030 to support skilled trades education, with a focus on coatings applications and advanced manufacturing.
The investment will support training programs designed to equip students with technical and hands-on skills for roles in coatings application, collision repair and modern manufacturing environments. The initiative includes partnerships with technical schools, community colleges and workforce training organizations.
Programs supported through the commitment include vocational training initiatives, apprenticeships and education partnerships across multiple regions. Examples include support for automotive painting programs in Europe, workforce development programs in the United States and training initiatives in Brazil and China.
The company said the effort is intended to address growing demand for skilled workers across coatings and manufacturing sectors, while helping individuals build job-ready skills aligned with evolving technologies.
The announcement builds on previous workforce investments and aligns with the PPG Foundation’s broader focus on education and community engagement.
