New Digital Tool Targets Coatings Spend Optimization
PPG Industries announced the launch of PPG InsightsNav, an analytics platform designed to help shipowners and operators analyze and optimize seastock coatings purchasing data.
The tool provides visibility into spending trends and helps identify cost-saving opportunities by presenting coatings data in a standardized, user-friendly format. It is designed to support more informed decision-making across procurement, maintenance and operational planning.
According to the company, marine operators often rely on fragmented or limited historical data, making long-term planning and cost control challenging. The platform addresses this by offering predictive insights based on historical trends, along with real-time dashboards that update as new data becomes available.
Key features include enhanced spend transparency across fleets, improved forecasting and budgeting capabilities and identification of procurement efficiencies such as optimized port selection and order consolidation. The platform is accessible globally through a secure interface for PPG marine customers.
PPG said the tool is intended to support both operational efficiency and long-term cost management for marine coatings users.
