Paint Recycling Program Expands to Another State

PaintCare launched its paint recycling program in Maryland on April 1, expanding access to collection and recycling services for leftover paint, stain and varnish.
The program enables residents and businesses across the state to drop off unused coatings at designated collection sites, supporting efforts to increase recycling and reduce waste.
State officials and industry representatives marked the launch during a press conference at the Miller Senate Office Building in Annapolis. Participants included Maryland state delegates and senators, representatives from the Maryland Department of the Environment and industry organizations.
“The launch of PaintCare is a tremendous milestone in the state’s efforts to increase recycling,” said Dana Stein. “PaintCare will benefit thousands of Marylanders every year, as they now have easily accessible locations to drop off used paint.”
Representatives from the American Coatings Association and PaintCare also highlighted the role of the program in improving access to recycling infrastructure and supporting sustainability goals within the paint and coatings industry.
The Maryland program is part of PaintCare’s broader efforts to expand paint stewardship programs across the United States.
