BASF to Increase Neopentylglycol Prices in United States and Canada

BASF will increase prices for neopentylglycol (NPG) in the United States and Canada effective April 27, or as contracts permit.
The increase applies to all grades and packaging, with prices rising by $0.10/lb and $220/mt.
The company cited continued increases in raw material feedstock costs, including propylene and methanol, as the primary driver.
Neopentylglycol is a polyalcohol used as a building block in polyester and alkyd resins for coatings and plastics. It is widely used in powder coatings, particularly in construction and appliance applications.
Additional applications include lubricants, plasticizers and pharmaceutical intermediates.
BASF markets neopentylglycol under its NEOL® brand.
