PPG, Asian Paints Renew India Joint Venture Agreement for 15 Years

PPG and Asian Paints Ltd. have renewed their joint venture agreement in India for 15 years. The extension takes effect in 2026 and will continue through 2041.
The agreement allows the companies to continue serving customers in the industrial, protective, marine, packaging, automotive and powder coatings markets.
The relationship began in 1997 with the formation of PPG Asian Paints Private Ltd., a 50-50 joint venture serving the automotive, refinish, marine and consumer packaging markets. In 2012, the companies formed Asian Paints PPG Private Ltd., a separate 50-50 joint venture serving protective and powder coatings customers.
Under the renewed agreement, PPG will retain management control of PPG Asian Paints Private Ltd., while Asian Paints will retain effective management control of Asian Paints PPG Private Ltd.
