RPM Highlights Sustainable Design at Malaysia Manufacturing Facility
RPM International Inc. has highlighted sustainability-focused design features at its recently opened RPM Platform APAC manufacturing facility in Serendah, Malaysia.
The plant includes a rainwater harvesting system designed to reduce reliance on local water supplies and help manage runoff. A rooftop garden provides insulation intended to help regulate internal temperatures and reduce cooling demand.
The facility also uses LED lighting and electric forklifts. RPM said the forklifts eliminate on-site emissions associated with gas-powered equipment.
The site incorporates Flowcrete’s Mondéco flooring system, which uses recycled glass in the finished floor. RPM said the facility reflects its broader effort to integrate sustainable materials and operating practices into its manufacturing footprint.
