KANSAI HELIOS to Shift Zagreb Coatings Production in Adriatic Reorganization
KANSAI HELIOS is reorganizing its architectural coatings production network in the Adriatic region, a move that will gradually shift production from its Chromos boje i lakovi d.d. site in Zagreb, Croatia, to existing facilities in Slovenia and Serbia.
The company said the transition will take place in phases over the coming years. Production activities at the Zagreb site will move to Količevo, Slovenia, and Gornji Milanovac, Serbia, resulting in a phased discontinuation of production in Zagreb.
KANSAI HELIOS said its Količevo site will continue to serve as an advanced production location with integrated technical and development capabilities. The Gornji Milanovac site will expand its role as a scalable production facility supporting regional growth.
The Croatian market will remain strategically important to the company, according to KANSAI HELIOS. Customers and partners in Croatia will continue to be served by KANSAI HELIOS Croatia d.o.o., a dedicated trading organization offering the company’s full portfolio.
The company said it will manage the shift to maintain product quality, performance and supply reliability. It did not disclose a completion date for the transition or the number of employees expected to be affected.
KANSAI HELIOS acknowledged that the restructuring will affect employees in Croatia and said it will conduct the transition in compliance with applicable legal requirements, including individual discussions with directly affected employees.
Bastian Krauss, president and CEO of KANSAI HELIOS Group, said the move is intended to bring the company’s research and development, production and technology capabilities into closer alignment while supporting quality, innovation and customer reliability.
The company characterized the changes as part of its ongoing transformation program, which is focused on simplifying its production footprint and concentrating resources around key technologies and growth priorities.
