Gemini Industries Acquires Industrial Coating Solutions
Gemini Industries, Inc. has acquired Industrial Coating Solutions (ICS), a Vancouver, Washington-based distributor of industrial wood coatings.
ICS, incorporated in 2007, supports customers using wood finishing systems, including large automated finish lines. The company was an early adopter of water-based technologies and continues to specialize in water-based industrial wood coatings.
Gemini, an employee-owned manufacturer of wood coatings headquartered in El Reno, Oklahoma, said the acquisition supports its long-term growth strategy in industrial distribution and OEM markets.
“After nearly 20 years of business, Gemini’s acquisition of ICS is a natural progression,” said Peter Swindler, co-owner of ICS. “This is a fulfillment of two companies aligned with the same mission: customer support.”
Chris Hicks, CEO of Gemini Industries, said the transaction expands the company’s presence in the Pacific Northwest.
“This acquisition supports a key element of our long-term growth strategy by strengthening our focus on industrial distribution and OEM markets,” Hicks said. “We are excited about the opportunities it creates to expand our presence and accelerate growth in the Pacific Northwest.”
Gemini has more than 60 years of experience developing wood coating products for distributors, professional wood finishers and consumers. Its product portfolio includes interior and exterior wood finishing products, support materials and real wood flooring solutions.
With the addition of ICS, Gemini now has eight administration, distribution, manufacturing and supply locations across the United States.
