Azelis, Chemetall Add Two Markets to Surface-Treatment Agreement

Azelis and Chemetall have expanded their distribution partnership for general industrial surface-treatment technologies across North America.
Azelis will now distribute Chemetall’s surface-treatment solutions in the United States and Mexico in addition to Canada. The Canadian partnership began in November 2025, followed by Mexico in April 2026 and the United States in May.
Chemetall is the surface treatment global business unit of BASF Coatings. Its portfolio includes technologies for corrosion protection, coating adhesion, surface preparation, forming, machining and other industrial processes involving metal, plastic and glass substrates.
The companies said the expanded agreement will combine Chemetall’s product portfolio with Azelis’ warehousing, logistics, regional technical support and digital services.
Customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico will also be able to use Azelis’ online portals to obtain technical and safety documents, place orders and request samples.
“This expanded partnership with Azelis is an important step in strengthening Chemetall’s position across North America and advancing our long-term growth strategy,” said Karlheinz Zander, BASF vice president of surface treatment for North America.
Todd Cottrell, CEO of Azelis Americas, said the agreement is intended to create a more connected and responsive customer experience while expanding access to surface-treatment technologies and technical support.
