SONGWON Industrial Co. Ltd. has introduced an RSPO-certified option for its SONGNOX® 1076 phenolic antioxidant.
The company received Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil certification at the mass balance grade in January 2026. The authorization allows SONGWON to offer SONGNOX 1076 as an RSPO-certified product option, with commercial availability planned for the second half of 2026.
The mass balance model permits certified and conventional raw materials to be combined within the supply chain while tracking and allocating the certified volume. SONGWON said the option gives customers a way to support more responsible sourcing without changing the additive’s performance.
SONGNOX 1076 is a phenolic antioxidant used to protect polymers against thermo-oxidative degradation during processing and service life. According to SONGWON, the product already has one of the lowest carbon footprints in its class.
The certified option is intended to help customers address sustainability targets, deforestation concerns and developing regulatory requirements, including future European Union deforestation rules.
“We are proud to provide a product that helps customers meet evolving sustainability and regulatory expectations without compromising performance,” said Hyeokkoo Lee, global product manager for main antioxidants at SONGWON.
SONGWON said it may expand its portfolio with additional RSPO-compliant products.
