Wanhua Plans 35-Day Shutdown Across 650,000 Tons of Capacity

Wanhua Chemical Group said its BorsodChem subsidiary will begin taking MDI, TDI and related supporting units offline in stages July 17 for scheduled annual maintenance.
The work will cover BorsodChem’s 400,000-metric-ton-per-year MDI unit and 250,000-metric-ton-per-year TDI unit in Hungary. The turnaround is expected to last approximately 35 days.
Wanhua described the shutdown as routine maintenance conducted under the company’s annual plan to support the safe, stable and efficient operation of its production equipment. The company said the work is not expected to affect its overall production and operations.
BorsodChem supplies MDI- and TDI-based materials for polyurethane applications, including coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers. Its portfolio also serves construction, automotive, furniture and other industrial markets.
Wanhua did not disclose anticipated effects on product availability, customer deliveries or regional pricing.
