Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd. signed a global, exclusive memorandum of understanding with Alstom to test and develop graphene-based products for rail heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems.
The MOU establishes a framework for product evaluation and co-development. It is not a commercial supply agreement, and GMG said successful product development and adoption are not assured.
GMG’s current energy-saving portfolio includes THERMAL-XR®, a graphene-enhanced HVAC coating system designed to improve heat transfer and protect heat-exchange surfaces from corrosion. The company said it is developing formulations for different applications and operating conditions.
The MOU announcement did not identify a specific GMG product selected for Alstom testing.

The MOU creates a defined rail application in which functional graphene coatings could be evaluated for both corrosion protection and thermal management. Because the agreement remains precommercial, testing outcomes and any progression to commercial supply will be the meaningful indicators to watch.
