High-Capacity Ribbon Blender Handles Solids and Liquids
Munson Machinery introduced the HD-6-1/2-15 SS Ribbon Blender for processing up to 500 cubic feet (14.16 cubic meters) of bulk solids with low or high percentages of liquid. Its split double-helical agitator moves material in opposing directions, with typical batch uniformity achieved in five to 10 minutes.
Close-clearance outer blades pass within 1/16 to 1/8 inch of the vessel wall to reduce residual material and cleaning time after discharge. A safety-interlocked grate provides access for cleaning and inspection, while the 150-horsepower agitator can be lifted vertically for servicing.
Available finishes range from industrial to pharmaceutical and USDA Dairy standards. Options include liquid spray lines, choppers, heating or cooling jackets and clean-in-place manifolds.
The large-batch capacity, close-clearance agitation and optional liquid-addition systems may be relevant to coatings plants that blend powdered and liquid raw materials.
